For professionals in Vietnam
A practical guide for Vietnamese professionals to expert work at frontier AI labs. Vietnam's technical and English-fluent professional class has been under-served by this market for no good reason.
Vietnam has a large, well-educated, English-fluent professional class in medicine, engineering, research, teaching, and adjacent technical fields. It has been under-served by the expert-work market at frontier AI labs, not because the qualifications are lacking, but because the awareness gap has been complete. This guide is written for the Vietnamese specialists who have not been introduced to this world yet.
What this is, plainly
Frontier AI labs pay domain experts to review, correct, and improve their models' reasoning in specific fields. The work is remote. The pay is in USD. For Vietnamese professionals, the rate typically compares against Western scales, which makes the gap against local salary in the same field very significant.

Access is not the problem
- Internet. Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong, and most major cities have connections that meet the requirement. Reliable fiber is widely available.
- Payment. Wise, Payoneer, and direct SWIFT into a Vietnamese bank account (with foreign-currency handling enabled) all work. USD lands and converts to VND at market rates. Tax obligations are the individual's; consult an accountant for the freelance income category.
- Time zone. The work is asynchronous. Time-zone alignment is not required.
- Equipment. A laptop and a broadband connection.
What labs actually look for
Dense, current expertise in a specific field. Recent clinical practice, active legal or engineering work, current research or teaching. Written English at the professional standard the field expects.
Vietnamese-language expertise is separately valuable for language-specific projects.
They do not look for AI experience. Almost no expert hired for this work has ever trained a model.
